2017 Ford Mustang Specs & Details
There werenāt many changes when it came to the 2017 Mustang model year. The biggest change was the addition of some stunning new colors and the removal of others. We lost Guard, Deep Impact Blue, and Competition Orange. Taking their place, however, is Lightning Blue, White Platinum Metallic, and the revival of the fan-favorite Grabber Blue. White Platinum Metallic was only offered during the 2017 model year, so there is a rarity to that color given its pearl-like finish.
Lightning Blue was a new color for the Mustang family and gained a lot of traction for the 2017 Mustang model year. Grabber Blue, however, steals the show and has been around since the first generation of Mustangs. It was amazing to be able to see Grabber Blue make such a popular comeback after not being seen on the Mustang since the S197 Mustang. This was the first year the color found itself back on a Mustang since 2014, and so far the only year it has been available on the S550 Mustang so far.
Speaking of tech, the 2017 Mustang GT350 got a fantastic performance upgrade. The 2017 model year the GT350 received a cooling overhaul getting a differential cooler, oil cooler, and better engine cooling standard. A variation of this cooling would eventually be used on the Mach 1 Mustang introduced in 2021. All models received another SYNC3 update now allowing for Car Play compatibility to be used. Everything was funneled through the cars infotainment screen which led to better navigation, control of your phone and ultimately keeping your eyes on the road.
With the anticipation of the 2018 Mustang refresh on the horizon, the 2017 Mustang didnāt see many changes. But, thatās okay considering the 2018 Mustang completely knocked it out of the park!
