2021 Ford Mustang Specs & Details
For 2021, Ford brought out what they dubbed as the ultimate track-built Mustang with the Coyote V8: the new Mach 1. This new model replaced the Performance Package - Level 2 and GT350 while bringing the best performance parts from both to the Mach. The 2021 S550 Mustang is in its full stride as a performance car while still giving old-school muscle car thrills. The 2021 Mustang still offers great value for performance and continues moving upmarket in features. Even the track-ready Mach 1 equipped with the Handling Package upgrade brings luxury and serious performance to the road course.
The top of the lineup includes the Shelby GT500 which rolled out an all-new Carbon Fiber Handling Package for an
additional $10,000. The Carbon Fiber Track Package brings lightweight carbon fiber wheels and a massive carbon fiber
rear GT4 wing that provides more downforce than any Shelby ever offered. The combination of this GT4 wing, the 305
front, and 315 rear tires, and upgraded Brembo brakes resulted in the highest performance road-going factory Mustang
ever.
The biggest upgrade to talk about is in Mach 1. While the car receives options such as the “swing” from the GT500 and
cooling upgrades from the now-defunct GT350, the Mach 1 also receives the Tremec manual gearbox from the GT350 which
vastly improves the car over the standard MT-82 found in the GT. The optional 10-speed automatic also receives
additional tuning to be more aggressive than the standard model. The Mach 1 is the most performance-oriented 5.0
Coyote Mustang ever and has been designed for purchase by any demographic.
As the most affordable of the higher performance models, the EcoBoost High-Performance Package offers thrills for a
massive price difference between it and the Performance Package 1 cars. Nearly nothing has changed on these as they
only debuted one year before, but with additional tweaks and touch-ups the EcoBoost High Performance Package is a
seriously impressive car for the money. The lighter weight as a result of the smaller engine massively benefits the
performance of the car especially with it being on Pirelli P Zero Corsa 4 summer tires from the factory. This way,
the Mustang offers high-performance variants on every motor in the lineup.
As far as changes to other trim levels across the Mustang lineup, the rest of the cars remain largely unchanged with
additional color options and additional appearance packages including slight changes to the California Special
including reworked stripes. With slight changes including optional stripe packages and interior technology packages,
the 2021 Mustang soldiers on against major competitors like the SS 1LE Camaro and the Challenger Track Attack in
addition to competitors from around the world. The 2021 Mustang is a world player and has proven itself as quality
in countries that once claimed it to be unsophisticated.
