2022 Ford Mustang Specs & Details
Going into the 2022 model year, many Mustang fans are hopeful for the future of the car. For 2022, Ford has decided to equip the S550 with new colors, new trim options, and more across the entire Mustang lineup. With new colors, new options, and new trim levels and packages, the Mustang is ready to show out before a complete refresh and possible redesign and performance overhaul arrive for the 2023 Mustang.
The EcoBoost Mustang goes largely unchanged for the final year of the S550, retaining the technology upgrades it
received in 2021 as well as the High-Performance Package for both the coupe and the convertible body styles. The
EcoBoost does receive a new appearance package for the convertible model, however, called the Coastal Limited
Edition. Finished in one of the new colors Ford offers on the Mustang, the Coastal comes only in Brittany Blue which
has made its first appearance since 1967. Paired with the convertible roof, side scoop, and unique striping and
badging, Brittany Blue looks right at home on the car.
On the GT500, this color makes even more sense. Rolled out for the Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition, the Brittany Blue
paint job is a throwback to the classic original Shelby Mustangs. Outside of the Heritage edition, the Shelby GT500
receives more color options such as Eruption Green Metallic, Code Orange, Oil Slick Purple, and Cyber Orange in
addition to the colors available before. This brings the Mustang color palette to one of the most vibrant it has
been in decades.
Outside of the Heritage edition and Coastal edition, there are two new special editions. For the EcoBoost coupe, the
new Stealth package brings added aggressiveness to the appearance. Fitted with black-painted 19-inch wheels, a
performance wing, black badging, clear taillights, and other black appointments throughout the interior of the car.
This will be available on top of the EcoBoost Premium Package only. This package is sure to make EcoBoost owners
feel sleeker than ever.
The final new package comes in the form of the California Special which is now offered alongside the GT Performance
Package. This combination essentially makes the Mustang GT Performance Pack 1 come fitted with the entire California
Special catalog and in turn one of the nicest Performance Pack cars yet. Fitted with suede, leather accents, new
pinstriping and badging, and much more, the interior of the Performance Pack has gotten to be an even nicer place to
sit. With this combo, you can now carve corners in comfort!
