2008 Ford Mustang Specs & Details

In 2008, the Mustang received some minor changes in most models. The car was made more lithe and agile than in the past while also losing around 20 pounds of weight resulting in better performance on and off of the race track. Still sticking with the redesign from 2005, the 2008 Mustang still rocks the mix of classic and modern styling with interior improvements to keep owners comfortable. While the car remains slightly unrefined as a result, the driving experience makes up for it easily with its responsive steering and amazing exhaust note.

For 2008, a few special trim options return. The California Special is still available as it was in 2007 and comes fitted with retro accents in the front fascia and rear diffuser. Inside, the car receives nicer seats and upholstering to help differentiate between a normal GT and the more luxurious California Special. With limited production for both the coupe and convertible with extra badging, the California Special is a more unique choice for the Mustang enthusiast to buy.

The other special edition model for 2008 is the return of the Bullitt Mustang. For the first time since 2002, the Bullitt moniker returns to the Mustang, and with the current body style, it fits all too well. Finished in either Highland Green or Black, the Bullitt features stiffer suspension, an improved cold air intake and strut bracing, exhaust, wheels, and more. The combination of 4.6L V8 exhaust note, brushed chrome interior accents, and the mean look of the car makes the new Bullitt seriously menacing on the road. The upgraded intake brings power up to 315 horsepower with the Bullitt’s tuning and gives off an intimidating road presence.

Ford’s big dog muscle car, the Shelby GT500, puts out 500 horsepower from the 5.4L Supercharged V8 that debuted in the 2007 model and won tons of recognition. With a top speed of 155 miles per hour, the GT500 is a serious tour de force against just about any car within $20,000 of its price. The GT500 comes only as a 6-speed manual to match the much higher horsepower than the normal GT model.
