This lightened flywheel for your T45 or T3650 equipped Mustang is a performance part that is at a mid-range price point. Replacing the stock flywheel, rather than resurfacing, will result in greater strength and better performance. Fitting Mustang GT's from 1996-1998 and 2001-2010, this flywheel will help you take your SN95, New Edge, or S197 up a notch.
Lightweight steel. This billet steel flywheel will offer greater strength while also reducing rotating mass. CNC machined to meet precise specifications and provide a great fit. This lightweight design will help your 4.6L V8 rev quicker and can improve acceleration.
Less hassle. Getting your factory flywheel resurfaced can have your car down for a bit while a machine shop resurfaces the flywheel. After resurfacing, the flywheel's strength can be compromised due to removed material or the flywheel may be imbalanced if not resurfaced properly. Purchasing a new flywheel avoids this process, simply install and enjoy the improved performance.
SFI certified. If you plan on racing and taking your Mustang to the track, this is a great flywheel for your Mustang. McLeod's steel flywheel meets specifications set by race sanctioning bodies and will prevent you from being kicked off of the track. The certification also helps prevent injury or death that can occur from a flywheel shattering.
6 bolt fitment. This flywheel fits the 6-bolt crankshafts on 1996-1998 Mustang GT's and 2001-2010 Mustang GT's. Maximize performance and refresh your drivetrain with this flywheel.
164 tooth. The flywheel features a 1045 hardened steel 164 tooth ring gear. This is designed to fit and handle the torque of the 4.6L V8 engine and is not compatible with V6 engines. If the engine has been rebuilt, a new flywheel is recommended.
