This Torsen T-2R differential is original equipment for the FR500S race car and a direct fir for 1979-2014 Mustangs with 31 spline straight axle 8.8" rear-ends.
4.0 bias ratio. Originally designed for the FR500S track car, this unit will deliver amazing performance on road courses or daily drivers with it's higher bias ratio and smooth performance. It is not recommended for drag race applications.
31 spline 8.8". This unit will work in 28 spline axle 8.8" rear ends provided they are upgraded to 31 spline aftermarket axles as well as all non-IRS 8.8" diffs factory equipped with 31 spline axles.
Smooth performance. Unlike, clutch type trac-Lok LSD's, this unit does not uses clutches or friction modifier to prevent chatter and other bad behavior. The gear driven limited slip mechanisms is well mannered on the street and provides much improved control on the track.
