The carbon fiber fabric is compressed between and impregnated by two layers of marine grade resin with UV-inhibitors, then it receives a gel coat to ensure protection from the sun.

Gas struts are not recommended for use with carbon fiber parts, so a prop rod will be needed for trunk use.
