The factory F-150 antenna mast is prone to damage from low overhead doors, tree branches, and car washes due to it's 3' length. Steeda's 6" billet antenna won't cause interference with low overheads and won't cause fender damage due to antenna whip when off road on rugged terrain. Every antenna is CNC machined in house from 6061 high strength aluminum and powder coated gloss black with UV & chip resistant material. The threaded adaptor is manufactured from stainless steel and will not rust or corrode. Satellite radio is received on a separate antenna so satellite reception is not affected. AM/FM reception in populated areas is affected minimally but may degrade in rural locations.
