Featured in the latest issue of Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords, our S550 Billet Rear Shock Mounts help to prevent breakage and improve performance, without breaking the bank. Made from billet 6061 aluminum, these mounts are designed to replace the weak cast factory units. Unlike the factory mounts that have a rubber bushing that binds and will deteriorate over time on lowered cars or cars with aggressive shock settings, these units feature a Steeda spec stainless steel spherical Teflon lined bearing for optimum performance and control. Steeda also designed this kit to provide 1/4" more clearance for wide rear tires on S550 Mustangs.As Evan Smith points out in the article, our mount is designed for the S550 chassis specifically and offers more strength and rear shock control than you can get from the factory mount. Best of all, you can use them with factory or aftermarket shocks so its suitable for all setups.
Along with depicting and explaining the installation process, Smith adds,

There is no drilling required, and these mounts are upgradable with a simple spacer and nut change (PN 555-8153).
