On April 6, 2015 at Homestead Miami Speedway, the Trans Am Series held two races with a total of 65 participating cars. The first ever Trans Am Muscle Car Challenge was held by the TA2 class, independent from the TA and TA3 100-mile Trans Am race.
Thomas Ellis led the class to the winner's circle with his No.00 Steeda equipped Ford Mustang in the TA3 American Muscle Group. Following Ellis on the podium was Todd Napieralski in a Chevrolet Camaro and Christopher DeSalvo in a Ford Mustang.
In the American Muscle Group, Ernie Francis started the TA and TA3 race out in front but was forced into the pits during the early laps, forfeiting any chance of victory. DeSalvo progressed to the lead but was quickly overcome by Ellis during lap four. By lap eight, Napieralski passed DeSalvo and all three maintained order until finish.
Ellis' win showcases Steeda's superior engineering and high-quality products being tested at the track under grueling and competitive race conditions.
