Christmas might be just around the corner but the team here at Steeda Autosports is already gearing up for the spring 2014 Pony Wars. Held every year at South Georgia Motorsports Park which is one of the top drag strips in the country, the 5th Annual Pony Wars co-hosted by LSR Performance and scheduled for March 29th 2014, will be an event you don't want to miss.
All American makes are welcome to participate in what's been considered the ultimate pony war showdown. For those of you who might be confused as to what the definition of a true Pony Car is... it doesn't refer to just the Ford Mustang as most would think. The Pony Car classification was given to several models within the GM and Dodge/Plymouth lines as well as Ford and Pontiac, which were inspired by the Ford Mustang originally.
What that breaks down to is a very exciting event!
Steeda and LSR performance will be hosting a pre-race party Friday evening March 28th at a yet undisclosed location. The party will be a good opportunity for everyone to make introductions, check out the competition and set up those grudge races. Some good old fashioned smack talk never hurt, right?
On Saturday morning, the event will kick off at Steeda's Valdosta location which will include a tour of the manufacturing and distribution facilities. For those who attend, there will be a special Pony Wars discounted rate on Steeda parts, good that day only. From there we'll head to South Georgia Motorsports Park to begin time trials in the form of a test and tune and grudge races both run on SGMP's new stop light timing system. We'll then sort cars into three classes based on closest ET's and let them battle it out for prizes and bragging rights.
While the fun continues on the drag strip, we'll also be hosting a car show and have several photographers on hand so make sure those rides are shined up and looking their best! We've got a lot more planning to do yet, this is only the beginning! We'll release more details as they become available, keep checking back for more news!
