The second annual Pony Wars held this past weekend was a phenomenal success with attendance up over 50% from last year with a vast variety of Ford, Chevy, and Mopar fans converging together and all celebrating the great performance cars that are all Made in America. It was evident that the camaraderie between competing brand owners was remarkable with everyone was appreciative of each other's cars and celebrating performance vehicles that only come from America!
The Pony War event started sharply at 8:00 with a private tour of the Steeda Autosports facility in Valdosta Georgia where Dario Orlando and the Steeda Team provided personalized insight on the in house engineering, manufacturing, and distribution operations. Then at 10:00 the cars all lined up forming a two-mile long line of Ford, Chevy, and Mopar vehicles that snaked it's way to the South Georgia Motorsports Park Facility - it was a "Kodak Moment" of American Pride to behold!
During the day there was never ending drag racing going that pitted cars against each other in head to head and grudge racing competition. It didn't matter if you wanted to seriously race someone - or if you just wanted to see how fast your car would do with you behind the wheel down the quarter-mile, as there was something for everyone at this great event. When speed mattered most, Steeda's own Scott Boda, who was piloting his 1990 Mustang LX with a full compliment of Steeda performance parts and accessories, provided some excitement. Scott was consistently ripped off times that included a blazing 9.12et at over 152mph - not bad for a "grocery getter Mustang" with some special purpose Steeda parts providing that extra competitive drag racing advantage!
We even had our own 2011 5.0L Steeda Sport Mustang at the track - finalizing it's testing of drag racing performance with our proprietary Steeda Boss 302 induction system. With final adjustments are still being done by the Steeda Skunkworks Team - we were able to record some extremely impressive ETs and top speed figures with it running with and then without the laughing gas being injected.
In addition to all of the drag racing, there was a car show that also provided an opportunity to mingle and admire many different rides on display. While every car on being shown was effectively a winner by showcasing pure American Pride, there were some special prizes recognizing the top award winners that were distributed to some of the most notable rides. The collection of cars on display was simply amazing and the people that were there made all the difference as everyone was essentially one big happy automotive family.
All in all - the Pony Wars presented by Steeda Autosports was a huge success and plans are currently underway to make it bigger and better in the future by further expanding it's scope to include even more - stay tuned for additional information in the near future as we all celebrate American Pride at the Pony Wars presented by Steeda Autosports !
