Senator Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) visited one of the largest industries in Valdosta - Steeda Autosports last week. He met with Steeda President Dario Orlando who gave him a personal tour and behind the scenes look at the newest Steeda facility where engineering, design, manufacturing, and warehousing are co-located together in a state-of-the-art facility unlike any other in the automotive business today.
Senator Chambliss was especially supportive of the core business that Steeda has brought to the Valdosta Georgia market, reversing the trend that many manufacturers throughout America have done in past years by going overseas to foreign markets for their manufacturing. Dario commented: "Steeda Autosports, is an American company that produces parts and performance equipment for American vehicles - and we do so with a work force that has technical and manufacturing capabilities far exceeding those of our competitors in foreign lands. With our state-of-the-art equipment and labor force we can manufacture performance parts with a higher level of quality and faster turnaround than any foreign manufacturer."
Senator Chambliss was extremely pleased with Steeda's commitment to the United States and commented that we need more companies like Steeda Autosports in America that support the American industry and its dedicated workforce. The Senator also urged economic development authorities to keep working hard to attract businesses like Steeda Autosports that boost our country's economy. Once the economy picks up again, Chambliss believes Steeda could grow to become even a bigger economic engine across the southeast United States. "It's critically important for industries like this to look at locations here in the United States. They could've put this facility anywhere in the world, and two years ago they decided to come to Valdosta, Georgia" Chambliss said, "Steeda Autosports manufactures products in Valdosta and ships them all over the world".
