Steeda's Black Friday Sale: UP TO 55% OFF!

First Annual Stampede North a Huge Hit!

The first annual Steeda Stampede of Valdosta occurred on Saturday, February 13, 2010. Patterned after the immensely successful Steeda Stampede that occurs every fall in Florida, this season opening event was a huge success - one that will surely be repeated next year. From the kick-off festivities the evening preceding the event, the tour of Steeda's new Valdosta facilities, the 30 mile vehicle stampede to South Georgia Motorsports Park, or the heads-up drag racing - there was something for everyone that appreciates the speed and performance vehicles!

The event started on Friday evening when the Steeda loyalists invaded the local Valdosta Georgia B-Dubs for an evening of food, drink, and camaraderie. Local radio station Hot 102.7 FM promoted the Stampede and announced special promotional packages opportunities to everyone that joined the party. Mother nature tried to stop the party by showering the area with a rare South Georgia snowfall - a feat that hadn't happened for over 20 years - but that did not stop anyone from making the most of the event.

On Saturday, the sky was clear, the snow was gone, and the spirits were high. Everyone arrived at Steeda's Valdosta facility early to enjoy the really great breakfast provided by the local Chick-fil-A. After everyone's personal fuel tanks were replenished, they were treated to a special tour of the 100,000 sq. ft. Steeda facility were Engineering, Manufacturing, Assembly, Warehousing, and Distribution operations occur. Also on display were a bevy of Steeda performance vehicles including the new 2010 Steeda Q series (Q550 Streetfighter and Q350), the Steeda Q650R competition racer, a Steeda Certified GT500, and the recently introduced Steeda/Ford Racing 2011 Fiesta.

Next, a long procession of Steeda and Ford performance vehicles embarked on the thirty-mile trek to South Georgia Motorsports Park. Led in procession by the 2010 Steeda Streetfighter Edition Mustang, the entire contingent was a sight to behold. Seeing all of the raw horsepower all lined up and traveling together was a sure traffic stopper for the locals who were experiencing a Steeda Stampede for the very first time.

At the South Georgia Motorsports Park the weather was cool, the track was dry, and the excitement was everywhere. As part of the 1st Annual Pony Wars dragstrip event that pits Ford, Chevy, and Mopar vehicles together, there was heads-up drag racing aplenty. The pavement was initially heated up by grudge match racing using the standard Christmas Tree lights - then the cars were divided into performance classes, the Christmas Tree starting lights were covered leaving only the staging lights visible - and then the entire event boiled over when the beautiful girls of the local Hooters became the official starter of every race. Drag racing - Steeda style...it just does not get any better than this!
