Burnett Dodges The Snowflakes En Route To Inaugural

In his debut with the new 2005 Steeda Mustang, Robin Burnett captured the pole and went on to lead every lap in American Iron to score an inaugural win at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on April 3rd, 2005. This win gives Steeda Autosports their first win with the 2005 Mustang.

The race was almost cancelled as Mother Nature threw four inches of snow in the mix which forced NASA to cancel all of the on-track action on Saturday. The competitors woke up to warmer temps on Sunday and the track crew was able to clear the track in time for one qualifying session and the race.

Burnett, who won half of the races last year in the Indiana-Ohio Region of NASA, was impressed with how fast and reliable the new car was right out of the box. "It was really easy to get up to speed in the new car. Ford gave the market a great platform in the new Mustang and Steeda has been working really hard to enhance the Mustang with the very parts that I used in the win," said Burnett. "Sparco joined up at the last minute and I have really been impressed with the workmanship of their seat and equipment. It really pays to stay with the best."

Robin plans to show the car at the SVTOA event during Camp Steeda at the famous Sebring International Raceway in Florida later in April and his next race will be at Putnam Park Road Course just outside of Indianapolis in May.
