Typical factory thermostats are rated to open in the 192-198 degree range. Our thermostats will open at around 180 degrees. Keeping coolant temps down will help your engine run cooler, reduce detonation sensitivity, and provide more consistent horsepower and torque production.
If your are still running with your factory thermostat and it is more than 6 years old it is also a good idea to replace it with a new aftermarket unit.
